Gov. Jennifer Granholm talked about the cessation of the hearing she presided over for the removal of Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. She said the proceedings were rendered moot since earlier in the day Mayor Kilpatrick agreed to resign as part of the plea agreement under which he pled guilty to two felony accounts of obstruction of justice and assaulting a police officer. She also talked about the implications of the trial for the state of Michigan.
