Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood talked about the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS), known as the “Cash for Clunkers” program. Topics included the the success of the program, legislation for additional funds passed by the House, and the prospects of the legislation in the Senate. He also talked about stimulus spending on transportation projects, and related issues. After the interview the reporters in the studio discussed his responses with the host.
