A tired President Bush responded to questions from reporters briefly before playing golf on his vacation in Maine. In response to a question on revised GNP figures indicating the recession still gripped the economy, the president said the economy was “doing all right.” The president also mentioned his continued support for his nomination of Clarence Thomas as justice for the Supreme Court. He was pleased to see that the National Bar Association voted to support the nomination.
