AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka talked about the 2012 presidential election at a Christian Science Monitor Breakfast event for reporters at the St.*Regis Hotel. He said the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision had enabled the labor movement to extend its voter outreach efforts to non-union households for the first time. Mr. Trumka said his organization has set a goal of recruiting 400,000 volunteers, focusing on a door-to-door effort rather than TV advertisements. He responded to questions from the audience.
